North Bridge vs. South Bridge

Two Chips that play a big roll of the motherboard's chipset are the North Bridge and the South Bridge!

The North Bridge Chip is mainly about the connection from the CPU (Central Processing Unit) to Memory and the AGP(Advanced Graphics Port!

The South Bridge Chip on the other hand is about the connection between CPU, PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect), ISA, IDE (Integrated Disk/Drive Electronics)
