Try CHKDSK /F or /R every once in a while!

Try CHKDSK /F or /R every once in a while, especially if your computer is consistently freezing!

CHKDSK is a Command Prompt that you can use when your computer isn't being itself(freezing, trouble logging in, slow, cant open certain files...etc)!

CHKDSK is practically checking the PHYSICAL STRUCTURE of your Hard Disk. It does what The old  SCANDISK used to do for Windows 95,98,ME!

It checks for bad clusters, sectors, and if its really bad it might mainly mean to replace old hard drive with new! Do it once in a while and it might help more than you think!

This Command is olso very familiar to FSCK in Linux .

  • Click Start, then type CMD in the Search box
  • Right click the cmd.exe, and then click Run as Administrator, if you get asked for password that would be the same password that you would have set to use to log on to Windows
  • At the command prompt, type CHKDSK /F and press Enter then restart your computer and check for errors when its finished the computer will reboot back to windows

Read & Write to exFAT file system on Linux

Let's Fix the Linux ERROR mounting an unknown file system type 'exfat'.

I've already shown how to install Microsoft's exFAT file system support on Linux before but now there is an easier, familiar and faster way to do it!

First thing you should do after logging into Linux is plug in the SD CARD, USB FLASH Card or additional Internal/External Hard Disk Storage that is formated into exFAT file system and then open the Terminal in Linux and type the following!

SUDO SU then press ENTER

Then it will ask for your User Password, type it out and press Enter!

Then type APT-ADD-REPOSITORY PPA:RELAN/EXFAT then press Enter

After you press Enter a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement that Google has bought from Microsoft to use their exFAT file system on Google's Mobile Android Linux Operating System that can be used on mobile devices if you've enabled root access) for the free exFAT file system implementation project message will load up!

Once again you have to press ENTER to Continue or CTRL+C to Cancel.

Then after executing this command in the terminal and a few seconds later you should type
APT-GET UPDATE and press ENTER! This is to make sure that everything that is needed for this package to work is up to date!

And then at last the final command you should type in the terminal is APT-GET INSTALL FUSE-EXFAT press ENTER to finally install the support for exFAT on Linux!

It will ask you one more time if you would like to Continue? then Press Y as in Yes and press ENTER!

As of now after you exit the Terminal you should start enjoying the support of the exFAT file system on Linux!

North Bridge vs. South Bridge

Two Chips that play a big roll of the motherboard's chipset are the North Bridge and the South Bridge!

The North Bridge Chip is mainly about the connection from the CPU (Central Processing Unit) to Memory and the AGP(Advanced Graphics Port!

The South Bridge Chip on the other hand is about the connection between CPU, PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect), ISA, IDE (Integrated Disk/Drive Electronics)

Private Browsing on the Web!

Private browsing on the internet can be very important and helpful especially if you have to pay some bills online and your own computer currently isn't working.

You might need to ask somebody if you could borrow their computer for five minutes to do some secure transactions online because its urgent and the deadline is closing in but how can you feel safe that nothing important will be stored on the computer!

I recommend Private browsing because when you finish browsing the web in this mode and close the browser nothing will be remembered and/or stored on the computer of all the websites, and/or transactions you've completed! No password, usernames, account numbers, addresses, website cookies and etc.., it will all be deleted when you close the browser!

Private Browsing is done differently in different browsers!

Google Chrome starts private browsing with an uncommon term incognito which means having one's identity hidden with an assumed name to avoid attention and/or recognition, especially online like the internet nowadays! As you open the Google Chrome browser just press and hold CTRL+SHIFT+N on your keyboard and the browser should start in Private Mode(Incognito)

Firefox is just as easy cause when you open the browser the only difference is that you should press and hold CTRL+SHIFT+P in order to browse the web privately with Firefox. What's even funnier is if you press these set of keys in chrome the print menu might show up, but that's too much detail cause we are only talking about private browsing!

Internet Explorer and Firefox have been around for quite sometime maybe there's a reason they share command at least in private browsing anyways! with Internet explorer you probably already guessed but just in case make sure you press CTRL+SHIFT+P if you like to browse the web privately!

Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool could be needed!

Is your computer acting funny, I mean does it run smooth all the time but out of nowhere it just freezes unexpectedly when ever it wants too!

You know that you have checked your computer for viruses and malware, you've optimized it as well through defragmentation and other optimizing tasks!

So What's the Problem?

Possible Answer...!

You Could be facing some memory issues on your computer, One of your Memory sticks could be defective. Thats where a Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool comes in!

Why not check and see for yourself by running a diagnostic memory test cause this option is included since Windows Vista, instead of paying someone else the big bucks $$$ to do it for you.

At the end of the diagnostic testing using this tool you can learn if you need to replace and/or purchase new memory for a familiar price that it would have cost for a technician to diagnose it for you!
