Missing Device Drivers?

I have bumped into a situation where a Device Driver is missing and its asking for a required CD or DVD source but I know that I dont have it!

I got online to the computer manufacturer website and  I still had difficulty finding the right drivers. Sometime some devices crash and you need to get a different device from different brand!

I did a little reasearch and I found this friendly free tool called Device Doctor! I downloaded it and it scanned my computer for missing drivers and surprisingly it found them all even my new wireless keyboard and mouse! I downloaded/installed all the missing drivers for absolutly free without any trouble!

I personnaly consider this tool very supportive and helpful for finding the missing device drivers!

What is Windows ?

You know allot of people today at the age of 30 or younger would have a good common sense idea of what Windows is!

People like my father for example still have difficulty understanding it! It's really not that complicated!

Windows is really called Microsoft Windows because it comes from a company called Microsoft.

Microsoft Windows is a form of software that is designed/build/written to let you use/install/run other software on it(Word,Real Player,QuickTime,VLC,Firefox,EA Games and etc..)

Microsoft Windows is an Operating System, which does exactly that, helping Operate a Computer System! It helps run all the devices(Motherboard,cd/dvd rom, Video Cards, Sound Cards, Memory, AMD/Intel Processors, Hard Disks and etc...) on the computer that makes it a computer!

Microsoft Windows has been around for quite sometime they are well known since Windows NT 3.1, 95, 98, 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and I cant imagine whats next!

For those who are curious what Windows is! Hopefully now you have a better idea of What is Windows?

Schedule Disk Defragmentation to Optimize and Maintain pc/laptop performance!

You should Schedule Disk Defragmentation on your computer using Disk Defragmenter to work daily instead of weekly if you would like to optimize and maintain your PC/Laptop performance using Windows on HDD.

You can prevent your computer from freezing, slowing down, and/or crashing in long term!

The Problem with Disk Defragmenter being scheduled to defragment your hard disk weekly by default is that most of the time it skips it almost every week for many months to come!

That's why the computer's performance and the hard disk's health status is almost never maintained, but when its scheduled to defragment daily it will defrag your hard disk at least twice a week during normal computer use, and the best part is that it will be unnoticeable when its doing it.

That way your files will stay in the right place on your hard drive instead of spreading around from one end of the hard drive to other or being broken down into dozens of pieces like a puzzle(one part of a file at one end, one part of the same file at the other end of the hard disk)!

This will basically prevent fragmentation, file loss, blue screen crashes due to hard to read and process data and etc...

And then every time you try to do a simple task such as downloading a file you wouldn't have to wonder around why it takes forever, why your computer all of a sudden begins to make loud noises until loads up or even why it gets stuck at 99.9% when you are downloading a file at very fast speed and etc...!

When you schedule to defrag your computer to lets say 1:00AM, it doesn't mean that you have to keep the computer up till 1:00AM to defrag!

What it really means is that when you turn the computer ON during normal time of the day it will realize that it didn't defrag your computer yet during the day so it will defrag automatically during the day when you are not doing too much on your computer(check email, play videos, chat ant etc...)!

exFAT for Windows XP

I respect the exFAT file system so much that I personnaly nicknamed it "DA Extremely Fast File System"

In the Honorable, Long Lasting and Reliable Windows XP, exFAT is available for update download and instalation!

I have formatted all of my USB Flash cards into the exFAT file system cause I know that all the operating systems from XP and above will understand it!

One of my friends has XP and when I plugged in my USB (exFAT formatted) it poped up and it said that I should format my USB! In order to use exFAT for Windows XP all I had to do was download an exFAT update(KB955704) from microsoft!

Although exFAT is designed for USB(removable disks), I risk using it on my second internal Hard Disk for all my web browsing(Temporary Internet Files) and downloads!

Install the following update in order to add support for the exFAT file system format on your computer using Windows XP!

If you are using Microsoft Windows XP Home, Proffesional and/or Media Center and if you like to take advantage of the latest less fragmenting and faster files system exFAT you'll need to download a specific Update for Windows (KB955704) from Microsoft!

This file system is mainly designed for usb flash drives, digital camera memory cards and other external devices in order to transfer files between computers and the devices.

And it's even mainly designed to support over 32GB drives since the old FAT or FAT32 file systems couldn't!

But I tried as personal technical experiment and formated some of my partitions on my computer since they are over 80GB drives as an exFAT file system rather then FAT32 or NTFS using the Command Prompt!

example Command Prompt: FORMAT D: /FS:exFAT /Q and press ENTER

And all I have to tell you is that When the drives used be formated as an NTFS File System my downloads would slow down tremendusly even after the 80GB partitions get to be only 10% full! And they would very quickly be fragmented!

But When I formated them as an exFAT file System, then even when I made the drives over 80% full my downloads still continue to download at a very fast speed as if my drives are still empty at the speed of 1mbps rather the the old and slow 90-230kbps when it was formated as an NTFS!

Program Compatibility Assistant

One of my Windows 7 Tips would be to use this Program Comnpatibility assistant that Microsft has created! This featured program can help you run programs made for previous versions of windows!

I made this youtube video below to see what I am talking about! I ran into this situation myself when I needed to update my Nokia N95 8GB!
